I'm happy to say that the SOWA Open Market was a success! It was a lot of fun, even though our set up time was 6:30 AM. Ugh! It was a very long day (especially since the Lost series finale was that night and went until 11:30). The weather held up and was only a little windy, which was a lot better than it could have been.

cute cat pic of the week
I'm starting to forget what cat pictures i've posted and which ones i haven't. So if there's ever a repeat, please forgive me. I hadn't planned on doing the SOWA market next weekend until a few days ago. Which means i have to get sewing! I don't think there's too much to do to get ready for it, but i feel very unprepared. Better get cracking i guess.

This Sunday I will be at the SoWa open market in Boston! If you're in the area, please stop by and say hello! It is the last one of the season and it is halloween themed, so feel free to dress up! It's going to be a lot of fun. My etsy shop will be in vacation mode until i get back on monday. See you then!

sowa open market
Happy open market day! My first real craft fair went pretty well. Though the tent was very difficult to set up (we had to have five strapping guys help us), it stayed up and looked great. Most everyone who stopped by was very nice. This excludes two little girls who started yelling at me...but that's a long story. Some people seemed very confused by the Chubbikins (and Anne's Gogolshocks), and i was confused by their confusion. "What are chubkins?" (That seemed to be the most popular pronunciation). Sigh. The weather held out and only sprinkled for a few minutes in the afternoon. I made a few sales and had fun! I am looking forward to the Halloween one now and am going to start themed chubbikins soon.

back from America's Dairyland!
Well, i'm back! What a wild and crazy trip it was (to see some pictures, check out my Flickr). And now that i'm home, i have a few days to get ready for my first real craft fair. I'll be selling at the SoWa Open Market in Boston this sunday and i'm pretty excited/nervous. At least i'll be with my buddy Anne, who will hopefully help keep me calm (take a look at her shop here). Currently, i'm printing out way more prints than i'll probably need. I'm hoping to sell one thing. I don't want to get my hopes up too high - or high at all. Next, i'll be making signs for the tent. I've decided to take pictures of my little Babies every week. Here is Cow Baby in the butter.
