wow it's been a while

Well! I am back, finally. With moving, fighting cats, and a new job, i've been busy. I promise to get back to it though! Bigger and better, hopefully. But for now, i just want t say that starting tomorrow (july 15th) through july 25th, i will be joining the Etsy Christmas in July sale! Some of my chubbikins took part of a much needed photoshoot last week and you can see the results in my etsy shop. There will have to be another photoshoot soon, since some of my chubbikins weren't photo ready.

My Chubbikins are now in the International Cryptozoology Museum! A little sasquatch is on display, while the other cryptids are for sale in the museum shop. If you're in the area, you should stop by! It's a very fun - and educational -museum. Oh, and the sasquatch Chubbikin now has a "donated by Erin Ellis" sign in front of it, instead of the question mark.

I have a new item in my shop: the personalized Chubbikin heart tag. Pretty cute, huh? You can tell me what you want written on it and i'll make it for you. Wouldn't this make a nice gift for valentine's day? I think so.

I am not doing very well updating my blog in this new year. I have been working on things - it's just that i haven't taken pictures of them yet. Hopefully that will come soon. In the meantime, here's a quick update on what i've been doing.

Chubbikins: Well, i have some new designs to share with you as well as new secret Chubbikin project. I think they're pretty darn cute! I will let you know when those guys are up in my shop.

Paper dolls: I am almost ready to print out my samples and mail them off! I just have to fix a few of them up in photoshop and put together the pages. I'm pretty happy with how they're coming out. Fingers crossed!

Other: I ordered some new cards that will hopefully get here soon so i can put them up in my shop for Valentine's day (oh boy, that's coming up quick isn't it?). I've decided i'm going to buy some colored inks. I get frustrated painting with watercolors sometimes because the colors get muddy. So i'm going to try to do some paintings and see how that works out. It'll work out fantastically i'm sure! Then, when i have some amazing new paintings, new paper dolls, and whatever else, i can work out a new design for my website. It needs an update! But i don't want to update until i have new work. Haha, so it might be a while before i have a new website. And on an unrelated note, i have at least 900 more songs to rate in my itunes library. Not making much headway with that. Oh well.

...Halloween! Yes, halloween chubbikins are here. You can see them in all their glory in my Etsy shop.

I've taken outdoorsy shots of my Chubbikins, and i have to say: they look pretty darn cute in their natural habitat! I will have to take some more though- i didn't get great shots of some of them (mainly the ones i took at the end of the day when i was tired and getting grouchy). You can take a look at them in my Flickr here.

Well, i did it! I sent off my application to the Bazaar Bizarre. I'll find out whether i got in or not on the 15th (i think). Keep your fingers crossed!

Look at those knees!

My Chubbikins are now in a second location! You can find them at the Summer Island Studio in Brunswick, ME. It's a nice little gallery in a cute little town. I think my chubbikins will be very happy there. My phoenix chubbikin was featured in a really cool blog called the Maine Maven! Take a look at it here. This blog makes maine look like a cool place.

Happy open market day! My first real craft fair went pretty well. Though the tent was very difficult to set up (we had to have five strapping guys help us), it stayed up and looked great. Most everyone who stopped by was very nice. This excludes two little girls who started yelling at me...but that's a long story. Some people seemed very confused by the Chubbikins (and Anne's Gogolshocks), and i was confused by their confusion. "What are chubkins?" (That seemed to be the most popular pronunciation). Sigh. The weather held out and only sprinkled for a few minutes in the afternoon. I made a few sales and had fun! I am looking forward to the Halloween one now and am going to start themed chubbikins soon.

The addition of this basket saved my tablecloth from flying away.

I think next time i'll have to find a better set up for the prints - no one looked through them.

Since it was so nice out today, i decided to take some pictures of my chubbikins outside. Maybe the natural lighting will won't make them look contrasty and crazy like my indoor photos look sometimes. They came out kinda cute, so now i'll have to take pictures of all of them outside. So expect to see more photos of chubbikins interacting with nature.
