a quick news update

It occurred to me that i haven't updated in a while. So here's a quick news brief:
My sticker book came out on monday. Yay! Well, according to amazon it did. There seems to be no mention of it on the dover website. Hmm. So anyone who ordered one from amazon will probably be getting it before i get my free copies.

I've sold a bunch of Chubbikins to the Maine Crafts Association. Hopefully they will have better luck selling them than i do! I dropped them off this week, and I have to say, it was a little sad handing over all those chubbikins that have been sitting around here for months. But the store looks very nice!

I'm going to be in Dujour magazine! They are going to have a section featuring etsy sellers and they want to feature my prints! I am very excited.

I got into the Plush You! Show. Yippee! I didn't really think i stood a chance, but i guess that shows me. A couple of my chubbikins will be featured in the Bluebottle Gallery in Seattle in October. So if you're in the area around then, you should go!

I guess that's all for now. I'm just working on more chubbikins and getting my submission for the Cloth, Paper, Scissors halloween mixed media contest ready. And also playing video games. Oops. Off i go!

jim has a tshirt, jim has a tshirt...

I think i've mentioned this before, but i have a lot of tshirts that i don't want to get rid of. Since my drawer is overflowing, i think it's time to do something about it. So i took one of my shirts and altered it for my good friend Jim. I had to shorten it, take it in, and shorten the sleeves. As you can see, it's still a little long, and i messed up the armpits a little bit. But i don't think Jim minded too much.

today is monday

My squirrel chubbikins made it into a blog! You can see this lovely lady's blog here. She also has an etsy shop with lots of nifty scarves.

Last night, being a sunday night, there wasn't much on the television. I settled on a show about piranhas on animal planet which wasn't very interesting. But after that show came a show about Christian the lion. I'm sure you've seen the youtube video, if not, go here right now (yeah the music is cheesy, but stick with it). Oh man. What an emotional show. I'm not ashamed to admit that by the end of it i had tears streaming down my face. They kept showing the clip of the lion hugging them, which would get me weepy, then at the end when the narrator said "they didn't know it, but that was the last time they would see Christian." Oh jeez, that was it. It was a good show though.

pumpkin evolution update

The snow finally melted away and here they are. The halloween pumpkins. I poked one with a stick and it went right through the skin. Gonna need a shovel to move those suckers.

My new obsession is a site called Zooborns. If you're feeling depressed or grouchy you should go to this site (you should go to this site even if you're not), it'll cheer you up right away. As long as adorable baby animals cheer you up of course. I went through every animal category so i wouldn't miss any of the previous posts and it was like cute overload.  Take a look at the fennec hare - like a catbunny.
